But can't I just send emails using CC?
It might at first be tempting to just use your email program to create a "mailing list" and send out to everyone in your address book. This is the fastest way to get your email address listed in the spam "blacklists" used by ISPs the world over. You can quickly find yourself totally unable to send email to anyone, as well as potentially open yourself to fines under the CAN_SPAM Act. You're also very likely to find your email hosting account summarily cancelled by your ISP.
